An exciting week in Cyprus has been filled with excellent performances by the Scottish women's national team. I joined the team as part of the performance squad to help individuals psychologically as well as providing team support and activity. Scotland lost narrowly to New Zealand in the first game but turned around the score line when facing England in their second game. The game was very exciting and ended 4-4 at full time. The final game was where Scotland secured three points with a 2-1 victory. This was a fantastic performance against a strong Italy side with Jane Ross and Rhonda Jones taking the goals. Scotland were remarkable throughout the games with inspiring performances all round. It was very impressive to see resilient athletes who can come back from from being a goal down at various points. Kim Little and Jane Ross were a fantastic pair who worked hard up front and were supported extremely well by the determined midfield. The defence were, for the majority, very disciplined and organised. I am looking forward to watching the Scotland side face the Netherlands tomorrow at 2pm in Nicosia.
