After my day of sightseeing and sorting my next adventure, I enjoyed a coffee and pao de quijos before walking to the stadium. I made a stop at the mall and used the massage chair haha. At the game, I decided to have a beer outside with the locals which was nice as spent time practising Portuguese with Brasillian fans. Entering the stadium, I was lucky to choose the seat of opportunity. Patricia from the embassy was in front and said to me to join them. This was so nice because she had many friends who joined us, and she was not only super nice but really enthusiastic about the games, supporting both Scotland and Brazil. What an experience sitting with them as I could feel the passion for football from every angle. Scotland lost 4-3 to Chile but it was an exciting game. I was so impressed with Chile and believe they were the most technical team of the tournament. The player's footwork was incredible. Shannon played the 90 minutes in goals and made some great saves. Proud. I was also very proud of super sub, Sarah Crilly to come on and score a goal :) what a strike it was. By the time the Brazil V Canada game started, not only was the stadium fuller but the rain had begun. Nevertheless, this did not stop people being right at the front where we were getting soaked. The Brazillians were so funny and being behind the Canadian bench, I am sure they were laughing at some of the shouts of teasing. The Brazillians were shouting about any Canadian association they could think of and they got scared that I was Canadian when I started to stick up for Tim Hortons coffee haha. The most common chant by the group was "justin beiber sucks!" And "Canada is cold" amongst "Avril Lavigne sucks" and "celion dion sucks". These playful teases got a few laughs from the players on the bench. Even at the end, when one girl was teasing Sinclair, Sinclair gave her the captain armband. Sometimes it pays to be mean haha! Anyway, that turned her perception around and wore the band with pride until the early hours of the morning haha! The game ended and it was almost midnight and we were all soaked from the rain downpour. I went to the apartment quickly and then went with the crazy supporters for pasta. Random 1 am eating but it was yummy. Thanks Pat. We then went to a bar as the Brazillian and Scottish national players haha (the only way we could persuade them to let us in after the 2 am curfew haha). I then stayed in the amazing house of Patricia. Woah it was beautiful. She was so kind and gave me her room whilst she took her brothers. She then drove me to apartment in the morning.
