Hutchison Vale secured 3 points against Kilwinning in the first game of the season. Hutchison Vale had an extremely strong first half with Jamie Torrance and Suzie Robertson putting the ball in the back of the net for the side. After the half time whistle, the game quickly turned around and Hutchison Vale allowed for Kilwinning to come into the game after Kirsty Mcnicholl scored a wonder goal, and then a deflection found its way into the back of Hutchies net. We should resilience and determination and in the last 15 minutes, pushed high and played more clinical. In the last remaining minutes, Jen Malone took the game winner after great build up play. The whole squad contributed to a successful victory from the support from the bench, to players coming on and making a difference as well as the players who started and gave a 100% to help achieve the teams goals.
I had a psychology session with the team the day after focusing on strategies to maintain the lead, and continue to perform after a half time break. Great input and discussion by everyone followed by a fun and intensive workout session. Well done girls!
